Former Chair, US Commission on Interstate Child Support
Margaret Haynes is an attorney with Public Knowledge® with more than 35 years of child support experience. Her focus is on policy and procedures development, legislative analysis, and training on interstate and international child support issues. From 2004 – 2007 she served as a member of the U.S. delegation during negotiation of the Hague Child Support Convention. In 2022 she participated as a member of the NCSEA delegation to the Hague Special Commission on the implementation of the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention. She co-chairs the Hague Convention Forms Working Group. Ms. Haynes previously served as Chair of the U.S. Commission on Interstate Child Support, whose report resulted in comprehensive reform of child support in the U.S. Ms. Haynes received a B.A. degree cum laude from Davidson College and a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
