Senior Deputy to the State Attorney, Ministry of Justice
Ms. Kaufman is Division Chief in charge of international child abduction in the Department of International Affairs, Office of the State Attorney, Ministry of Justice of Israel. She has served since 1994 as head of the Central Authority for Israel under the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She is responsible for developing policies, guidelines and legislation/legislative amendments in the field of international child abduction, and represents the Attorney General of Israel when required in cases before the courts in Israel. She heads the delegation of Israel to the Hague Conference Special Commissions on the operation of the Convention and has presented extensively on a global basis on the topic.
